Program – October 18th – “Afloat on a Russian River” by Rick Marsi

Rick joined us to retell the story of a group of his Russian friends taking him on a week-long, 70-mile kayak trip through remote countryside. Rick has visited Binghamton’s sister city of Borovichi, Russia 13 times and has written a book about those visits, titled “The Bridge to Borocvichi.”   He delighted everyone by handing out some free copies of the book after his talk.  Rick is a well known freelance writer, photographer, lecturer and outdoor travel consultant. For many years, he has written the weekly outdoor column for the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, the Elmira Star-Gazette and the Ithaca Journal.
